Abstract
Purpose : Parameters relevant to dose is very important to understand and plan an optimization of image technique for study CT examination to be worth diagnostic value in a minimum radiation. So we measured that other parameters were identified using same four equipments of same company and our study examine differences between values of Dose Length Product(DLP) and a variation of Noise according to change tube voltage and tube current. Therefore, This purpose of this study was to provide optimized CT images to patients and to minimize patient dose by exposuring proper dose.

Materials and methods : For this study, We used Somatom Definition AS(SIEMENS Healthcare, Germany) and Lung-chest phantom(RS-330, Fluke Biomedical Company, Inc., Everett, WA, USA) as a phantom for this study. A statistical analysis by using SPSS 19.0 program is to evaluate parameters on differences between the groups by using scheffe test and to evaluate relevance on differences between the groups by using bonferroni test.

Results : As a result of the experiment by applying a change in tube current, tube voltage and the same parameter on the same equipment, the values of Noise and DLP came out differently. According to tube current and tube voltage increasing, it appeared DLP increasing. Also at 25% on average, the value of DLP was higher compared to the laboratory number 1 with the other DLP laboratory. when the100kVp-50mAs conditions showed a50% increasing of DLP, compare laboratory number 1 with number 3. And laboratory number 3 shows the results smallest in the overall average. And when compare to laboratory number 2 with number 4, it came out as a result of about the same level. Result of Noise value of Laboratory number 3, 4 is smaller than laboratory number 1, 2.

Conclusions : This study examine dose reduction effect by reducing tube voltage and tube current and if Noise is maintained properly in relevant limit providing optimal image, it can reduce patient dose to the minimum. Even if equipment and examinations are same conditions, Noise and Patient dose showed differences. The results of Noise consider differences in accordance with medical institution and check list, but they can be analogized differently by specific material of equipment.
